Never enough money for weapons, war, and waste?

Never enough money for weapons, war, and waste?: Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Call your U.S. Senators today using the tool below! There is $18 billion on the line!

The Senate is back from recess and has resumed consideration of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) – the annual bill setting policy for the Pentagon, wars, and nuclear weapons.

Although the NDAA provides more than $600 billion for the Pentagon, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) plans to offer an amendment to add an additional $18 billion to the Pentagon budget. Yet, the Pentagon is the only federal department that cannot conduct an audit and account for how it spends, and often wastes, such huge sums of money!

Not enough for weapons, war, and waste? We disagree!

Thank you to those of you who called your U.S. Senators before Memorial Day. Now we have another opportunity as the Senate is poised to consider the amendment.

Please call your U.S. Senators today! Ask them to oppose adding more money for weapons, war, and waste at the Pentagon. Ask your Senators to make sure their vote is on the record.

Adding an additional $18 billion to the Pentagon budget could cut needed investments from important domestic programs such as education, childcare, roads, rails, bridges, disaster preparedness and response, food assistance, healthcare, and more.

The vote is anticipated as soon as Wednesday, June, 8. Please call your U.S. Senators today!
